KUNA is more than just a name. It is the encounter of two very different eras and worlds: The past, through inspiration of the rich aesthetic and technical expressions of the old Andean cultures, and the present, through the hands of highly skilled designers, who select each color and create each sketch and design, merging these into a unique and captivating contemporary style.
Every single garment tagged KUNA, is not only an extraordinary soft product manufactured with the best alpaca, vicuna, llama and/or guanaco fibers, it is also a reflection of the importance that the Grupo Inca gives to conserve, breed and improve these species, as well as to preserve the Andean communities and their invaluable knowledge and cultures.
Pacomarca (The Place of Alpacas) is located on the cold highland of Puno in the South of Peru, at an altitude of more than 4,000 MASL, where the sky merges with the blue mirrors of the water of the Lake Titicaca, the largest lake in South America. Pacomarca consists of 1,500 hectares of land, all of which are dedicated to the breeding and genetic improvement of South American camelids. This is achieved through the application of advanced scientific systems, both in parental lines as well as in pasture handling. In this way, the fibre is consistently improved, preserving the species and highlighting its extraordinary qualities such as: Softness and fineness; qualities for which the camelids are recognized worldwide.
In KUNA, we are convinced that the high quality of our products is nothing but the result of our careful attention to small details; both by the skillful hands of our craftsmen and by the application of our own high technology, which is a product of our own research. In this way each of our products represent the result of our aspirations to create a product with a high human value and respect for nature, with our main goal always being the satisfaction of our customers.
